Artist of the Week
If you like K-Pop and follow LISA of BLACKPINK, you have likely seen this video of her dancing to a song called 'Tomboy' by Destiny Rogers (not to mention the Bada Lee is in it). I had heard this song before Lisa’s video came out, but she truly gave the song justice with the choreography and overall concept.
I hope you are happy to hear that yes, all of her songs are that good.
I haven't seen her live (hopefully one day) but I know that her concert would be one to remember, especially with songs like "Lo lo," "West Like," and “Got it Like That” (which features B.I. for any fans out there). And maybe I am a bit biased (hey, that's the name of the game here) because I am a West Coast girl, but her songs never fail to make me feel like I am driving under palm trees right next to the ocean on a perfect summer night in L.A.
But I digress, her songs are smooth and perfect to bounce and nod along to, in the car, doing homework, or covering LISA’s choreo video.
My Favorite Songs:
Tomboy: you already know this song is good– especially since it quotes Cher
Lo Lo: this song continues to embody Cher’s words, “Mom, I am a rich man” with Roger’s lyrics. “Lo Lo” also features P-Lo and Guapdad 4000 for fans of Bay Area rap.
West Like: This song truly makes me want to be driving at sunset with the windows down, specifically along the California Coast. “West Like” also features Kalan.FrFr, a rapper.
Got it Like That: If you need a boost in the morning or any time of the day and want to feel cool, this song has got your back. “Got It Like That” features B.I, an artist in K-pop who has collaborated with Tinashe, and Tyla Yaweh, a rapper and singer.
Spiral of Love: It’s time to slow things down a little bit, “Spiral of Love” is off of her most recent album “Still Your Girl” and is what you would listen to after you have had an amazing day with friends, family, or a loved one.
